Why we built it this way

Built for the Long Haul

Minecraft worlds are not disposable.

Players invest hundreds—or even thousands—of hours building, exploring, and creating memories.

We believe that kind of commitment deserves infrastructure designed with the same long-term mindset. i85.net is built on equipment we own, maintain, and continually improve.

02
What keeps everything running

The Foundation

Network

Dedicated routing and proxy services connect players across every world in the i85.net network.

Game Servers

Enterprise systems provide the processing power behind survival worlds, competitive modes, and future projects.

Storage & Backups

Player worlds, databases, and essential services are protected through dedicated storage and regular backups.

Website & Services

Web services operate independently from gameplay systems, improving stability and simplifying maintenance.

Continuous Improvement

Hardware, software, storage, and networking are continually evaluated as the community and network evolve.

A look behind the curtain

Inside the Rack

The physical systems behind i85.net are organized, maintained, and expanded in-house.

From compute and storage to networking, each system has a purpose and a place within the infrastructure.

Protecting Your World

Every build, inventory, achievement, and shared memory represents real player time.

Storage and backups are treated as essential infrastructure, not an afterthought. The goal is simple: protect the worlds players choose to invest in.

A network in motion

The Journey

The original Genesis server that began i85.net
October 2025

The Beginning

The original Genesis server became the development sandbox where i85.net first came to life. It also hosted the original public SMP1 beta, where early community members helped test new ideas and shape the direction of the network.

May 2026

Growing Beyond One Machine

As the community expanded, enterprise systems were added to support additional worlds, improve reliability, and prepare the network for future growth.

Summer 2026

Building the Infrastructure

Enterprise servers were inspected, upgraded, tested, and configured before joining the network, creating the dedicated infrastructure that powers i85.net today.

Looking Ahead

The Story Continues

New worlds, continued infrastructure improvements, and community feedback continue to shape the future of i85.net.

To our community

To Everyone Who Has Played on i85.net

Whether you joined during the earliest beta builds or discovered the network more recently, thank you. Every suggestion, bug report, conversation, and late-night adventure has helped shape i85.net into what it is today.
